NOTE: This piece was originally written for the lunar eclipse in Sagittarius (26th May 2021) and shared through my previous blog. I share it again today for the full moon in Gemini, to sustain the souls who are searching for their unity. Click on the image to listen to the podcast for today.

King Ulysses is very much the Sagittarius extreme and Queen Penelope the Gemini one. After leaving Ithaca and Penelope his queen Ulysses goes on and on, from fighting and killing to tricking his enemies, from fleeing into pure adventures, leaves (and loses) everyone behind, embarks in a journey which is full of explorations, adventures, loves and horrors. She waits for him on their Island, and preserves her royalty, her honour, and their reign against a crowd of parasite suitors with such a clever trick she can only be the best suited wife to her husband. She weaves and un-weaves, weaves and un-weaves, everyday. “When my work on the loom will be finished, I will choose one of you as my new husband and new King of Ithaca”. As the weaving of the beautiful souls of Gemini, doing and undoing, exploring patterns and destroying them, to wait for the right moment, in such a fast, fleeing and sharp intelligence.

TWENTY YEARS PASS.

Ulysses cannot believe the blockages on his road back to his Reign, and Penelope gets tired and exhausted of her tricks to keep the future at bay. I hope you know what happens when finally Ulysses, completely alone and disguised as an old man, reaches the shores of his land. Penelope does not trust him. Not even after he has won the contest with the suitors, by stretching his potent Bow and precisely shooting his arrow through TWELVE axes, after killing all the suitors on the spot, in his very hall. She pretends she does not recognise him. She waited for him for TWENTY YEARS, right? I kind of understand her.

And the finale is one of the most amazing and meaningful stories ever written. She lightly tells her servants to move their thalamus, their bridal bed, so that he could lay with her.

Ulysses sweetly tells her that that bed cannot be moved, for it was him, himself to have built their thalamus out of a living olive tree, and around it all the rest of their abode was built.

The final test is over.

Penelope can finally release all her doubts and fears and finally, finally embrace him tightly in the tremendous joy of a long-awaited return and Union. Her frustration gives space to forgiveness, which dissolves into the overwhelming feeling of Love, his patience forged through adversity, scars, cruelty and detours dissolves in the deep knowing of their Immortal Union.

The THALAMUS. This is the “unmovable” place, which rests in the centre of The Wheel. This is not Penelope or Ulysses, or their union: this is all the unions together, this is the Tree that reaches with its roots to the core of the Earth and contemplates all the manifestations of the Ego, Soul and Spirit, the all-seeing eye. The immovable motor. The CENTRE.

The waiting is over. Seek your Centre. The Unity of all Unions.

Penelope does not want a husband.

Penelope wants Ulysses.
