How many dimensions do you think are relevant?
Astrology as it is practiced today could be defined as "flat".
The schemes that we use to navigate the transits and to study natal charts are very limited, oversimplified tools that report a projection of the positions of the planets in accordance with a division system.
I love how the term projection applies both to geometry and to the psyche.
I discovered recently that also Jung thought that planetary archetypes were projections. I add to that that we are influenced by that collective and artificially created projections, and we create them as well. We are the authors and the characters. But most importantly, I cannot deny an agency, totally non-human, to the astral forces or cosmic beings, as I prefer to see them, regardless of their chemical distance to the tiny fragment of life we represent as a species on Gaia. (I will be silent about all the divinities of Gaia herself, but they have agency as well).
The level of complexity that the relationship between the macrocosm and the microcosm entails can literally make people lose their mind.
Especially when the only way the human mind sustains to deal with complexity is oversimplification. Especially when we flatten a multi-level, highly complex and dynamic system into a two dimensional scheme. If, then, we use only the accumulated "knowledge" (no matter how ancient of recent) as the only guiding light, and we refuse to recognise the mystery of "other" forms of agency, then, we fall into a dogma.
I could muse about this for pages and pages.
But let's talk about the spheres, instead of forgetting that the astrological wheel is a mere projection of a vast and spherical three dimensional reality.
It would be already awesome (for many critical reasons) to run Astrology on a sphere, and there are some examples in astrology softwares. But that "Sphere" is not the only one, there is another "Sphere", well represented by the famous illustration contained in one of Flammarion's works. That second Sphere is the sky beyond the solar system, the sky of the fixed stars. The illustrated breakthrough represents truly well the feeling that discovery can bring. I have touched with my work many aspects of that Sphere.
But there is another Sphere, which instead of being "out there", is "in here". The knowledge related to this Inner Sphere seems to be an esoteric secret, at least this is what it seems, because no one is speaking about it. And yet, it's not unknown. I firmly believe, because of my experience, that this Inner Sphere can be accessed through what Diwal Khul (or his wordy channeler) defined "the reversal of the wheel", even if there is no mention to it.
So, if we were to imagine the future of Astrology, we should speak about an HyperSphere Astrology, one that admits the hidden dimensions globally, cosmically and internally. But with the deep acknowledgement of the fact that, as it happened for all the previous "systems" (I cannot even call them Spheres yet), the oversimplification will only be temporary and subject to deep revisions once that yet another dimension is uncovered, or better, brought to awareness.
When I developed this idea, I played with it through AI. The machine delivered a very nice interpretation of my simple two-words prompt. See what came out here. This is just a simulation of a website, it's not on the internet. And yet, I believe it could be adjusted and rendered a little bit more attractive, and people would fall in the consumer's role that the machine has been educated to privilege, through our distorted "guidance".
Another idea that I literally mused about was the Sphere of Urania. Urania is the Muse of Astronomy, Astrology and Philosophy. I transformed that sphere into a HyperSphere. One that contains a multidimensional structure. Again with the aid of the Machine, and through my usual cunning weaving or intarsio art, paying homage to the AntiK, always generous and mostly revered, this is one of the icons of the New Urania I produced.
Happy full moon in Aquarius. This Moon is more than it seems... "Astrology", or "one wheel Astrology", will never be enough, for her.
The future calls, and she listens.
